Adding Tags to Signals

What are Tags in Avenue?

Tags are pieces of metadata added to signals in Avenue that allow dynamic grouping and analysis. For example, a shoe store with multiple locations may have a monitor for incoming maintenance requests and add a tag indicating the stores location. You can add tags two ways, on the monitor creation page and on the signals themselves.

Adding tags when Creating a Monitor

There are two types on tags available when creating a monitor:

  • Static Tags

  • Dynamic Tags

Static Tags

These tags are available to all monitor types and allow you to tag the monitor and it's signals with a static value. You can create tags by selecting the + Add Tag button on the monitor creation page. Once a static tag is created it will be available to all monitors and signals to use.

Dynamic Tags

Dynamic tags allow you to add tags to your signals based on the column names returned by the monitor query. You can add these on the monitor creation page.

Note: You will not be able to add dynamic tags during the creation of a form monitor. However, you can add dynamic tags after the monitor is created in the tags section of the monitor details page.
