Signal Types

Explore the different signal types

Updated over a week ago

There are two types of signals that you can configure your monitors to use. Notification Only and Tickets. By default monitors are configured with Notifications only signals. To switch to tickets you will need to toggle them on the Monitor details page.

Notification

We think of Notification Only Signals like a health-check. These Signals will send a notification to the Subscribers configured for this monitor. Notification Only signals often do not require any action and will automatically resolve themselves. Just like tickets, these are generated when your monitor detects the changes in your data that you have specified in your monitors query.

Tickets

Tickets allow your monitors to send alerts that require actions. These are akin to the concept of tickets in Avenue. Tickets provide the ability to assign incidents to your teammates and auto-escalate if needed. This allows you and your team to work through issues collaboratively and across platforms.
