This section will walk you through each of the main sections in Avenue and how to get started.

Navigation:

Here are the 10 Main places to visit when working in the Avenue app:

  • Monitors:

    • create, edit, and manage your monitors

  • Data Views:

    • create reusable SQL queries for row-based and metric monitors. Metrics provide a way to define specific measurements outside the context of a monitor. Helpful to maintaining a source of truth for commonly used SQL queries.

  • Data Sources:

    • connect your data sources (SQL or non-SQL)

  • Copilot:

    • AI chatbot that can help with new monitor ideas, expanding on a monitor concept, or with writing/de-bugging SQL queries for a new monitor

  • Signals:

    • Centralized location for monitoring and managing all your signals effectively within Avenue.

  • Forms:

    • Create and edit forms. Forms are a type of monitor.

  • Teams:

    • Create and manage teams. Invite new teammates.

  • Settings:

    • Configure your account settings (personal information like phone number and email, notification preferences, manage tags & customer statues, configure integrations)

  • Audit Log:

    • Log of all edits and actions to your monitors. If something breaks and you need to investigate - come here.

  • Documentation:

    • Read more about Avenue

Getting Started

Here are the first three steps you should take when looking to setup your Avenue workspace for the first time:

  1. Connect your database from the Data Source section. Check out these guides on how to connect each datasource, like Postgres, Snowflake, BigQuery, and many more.

  2. Integrate with your existing tools, like Slack, Twilio, Customer.io in the Settings section. Check out these guides for detailed directions on integrations

  3. Head to Monitors section to create your first monitor, here is a detailed guide on creating a monitor.
